Freight

The Freight section covers the registration and management of merchandise transport costs from the point of origin to destination, whether by sea or air.

Each freight record includes details about the contracted transport service, such as:

  • Freight provider

  • Type of shipment

  • Weight and volume

  • Applied rates

  • Any additional charges related to the transport of merchandise


Creating a New Freight Record

To create a new freight entry:

  1. Click New.

  2. A window will appear — enter the following:

    • Importer – the importing company associated with this freight

    • Company Name – the name of the freight/transport provider

    • SCAC – the Standard Carrier Alpha Code that identifies the carrier or transport provider

Freight Code

The freight code is generated automatically following a predefined sequence, ensuring no duplicates and maintaining an ordered registry.


Completing Freight Details

Once the freight record has been created, you can complete additional information such as:

  • Company name

  • Any additional data required for the logistics operation

These details ensure that the freight record is correctly linked to the company and can be used in shipment management, customs documentation, and reporting.
